The word “MANU” is the union of first letters of four eminent Advocates who founded the legal firm viz., Michael D’Cunha, Amrith Kini A, Noronha Melwyn Prakash and Ullal S.K.
One of the founder of the institution MANU ADVOCATES Mr. Michael D’Cunha since elevated from the Bar (Advocate) to Bench (High Court Judge of Karnataka) the remaining 3 members of MANU continued the profession under the same name and style along with eminent associate advocates.
MANU ADVOCATES established in 1997 and takes the honour of being the first fully computerized large office with vast Library in the undivided District of Dakshina Kannada of Karnataka State (presently Mangalore and Udupi). It provides legal services for at least 12 hours per day. It has the best support staff to do legal research, office and secretarial work. MANU ADVOCATES have sufficient infrastructure such as Intelligent Professionals, Vibrant Staffs, best large office with all amenities and facilities, best library with most updated editions of law books and journals. Further keeping pace with the advancement & technology, subscriptions to law websites has ensured the firm to get the most recent decisions at the click of a finger which help to assists the clients to secure justice from the law courts.
It believes in giving the best service to its clients, it takes no short cuts in providing justice to its clients. Three among the members of MANU ADVOCATES are Notaries and three others are Christian Marriage Registrars. The three Senior Advocates have around 30 years of experience as advocates in Civil, Criminal and Service Law and other Advocates are having experience of several years which is helpful to them to provide most of the legal requirements at one place.
Fees may be waived off, suitably reduced or accepted in equated periodic instalments in cases of clients hailing from low income group, at the sole discretion of the office.
The members of MANU ADVOCATES is known for their integrity, honesty and maintaining the secrecy of the client’s cases and privileged communications. The sanctity of the fiduciary relationship between the client and his Advocates is being maintained by Manu Advocates and all other Associates and employees. Office adheres strictly to the professional ethics of Advocacy and shall refrain from any unethical or otherwise unscrupulous acts for or against the clients.
The MANU ADVOCATES may require the clients in certain cases to pay a retainer fee prior to commencing any further legal services in certain cases. The amount of fees collected as retainer does not include the professional fees, stamp duty and other incidental expenses to be incurred.
